WSBG Australian Qualifier

WSBG Australian Qualifier Format Summary 

• The Australian Qualifier for the World Series of Board Gaming will take place over a Single Day
• Players will compete in one game each of 5 different games
• Players will points based on their results in each of the 5 games
• The Top 16 players ranked by criteria to be determined will qualify for the Semi Finals
• The Final 4 players will compete in the Grand Final Match
• The Winner will receive a trip to the World Series of Board Gaming 2024

 Format Morning Session 

• Players will play 3 shorter games of about an hour or less each.

 Afternoon Session 

• Player will play 2 longer games of about 90-120 mins each.

 Evening Session 

• The Top 16 Ranked players will compete in the Semi Finals, consisting of 4 Tables of 4.     
  • The game which will be played in the Semi Finals will be randomly drawn

• The Winner of each Semi Final will qualify for the Grand Final     
  • The game to be played in the Grand Final will be randomly drawn.

   

 Games 

There will be 3 short and 2 longer games. With each player playing every game once each.

• 1:30 - Game 4
• 3:30 - Game 5
• 5:30 - Break
• 6:30 - Semi Finals
• 7:30 - Grand Final

 Semi-Final Game Selection 

• Each Table will randomly draw one of the 3 shorter games to be played as their Semi-Final game.

 Grand Final Game Selection 

• The Grand Final game will be randomly selected from all 5 games

 Prizes Winner 

• The winner of the grand final will win:     
  • 4 Day Pass to WSBG Las Vegas (Value $475 USD)
  • Cost of Flights and Accommodation covered. Details to be confirmed

   

 2nd Place 

• The second place in the grand final will win:     
  • 1 Day pass to WSBG (Value $275 USD. Can be upgraded at own cost)

   

 3rd Place 

• The second place in the grand final will win:     
  • 1 Day pass to WSBG (Value $275 USD. Can be upgraded at own cost)

   

 Registration/Eligibility 

• Tournament Entry is open to players of all ages. Players under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian per Club entry requirements
• Only players aged 18 and over are eligible to win the prizes. WSBG Las Vegas requires players to be 18 years and older to compete.
• If players under 18 years place 1st, 2nd or 3rd the respective prizes will be awarded to the next highest ranked player aged 18 and older.
